Great music, great food, tasty inventive drinks! The place is beautiful and the staff and owners are incredible people. Such a great atmosphere at this local gem!
Just ate here last night. I am not a foodie, and am not impressed by anything other than good food at a good price in a nice setting. I found all three at Zenbarn. It's a beautifully renovated barn that is well-lit and spacious. Tried 4 of their appetizers, and all were truly delicious. Could have made a meal out of just the apps, but I also ordered a Zenburger, which was a 1/2 lb of juicy and flavorful beef with lettuce, tomato and onion. I shouldn't have eaten it all, but I couldn't help it. They had a great selection of regional craft beers. I tried the Creative Arts Ransack IPA - fantastic! Our waitress was attentive, funny, and helped us in making our choices from the menu. I stayed on for the live bluegrass, which drew a nice crowd at the bar-end of the barn. It's a really cool space, and I can't wait to visit again next time I'm in Stowe!
I've been there a few times now, once for dinner and twice for live music. I can't say enough about the place. Everyone is so friendly and the interior is clean and beautiful. The food is fantastic. I'm not usually a tempura fan but the tempura mushrooms are a new favorite of mine. Both the barn burger and the kimchee burger are amazing, as are the house made chips. I'm also a huge beer nerd and the beer selection small but top notch. My kid loved his corn dog from the kids menu... in fact I might order that myself at some point.
This is a community center posing as a fabulous bar, restaurant and live music venue. Great local and hard to find craft beer, imaginative cocktails, food for one or to share, a wide variety of cool special events, groovy decor. I hope this place is a trend.
The times I've been there for live music have been great as well. The place has a really nice sound to it. I often find smaller music venues to have poor sound quality but not Zenbarn.
Perfection, in a cool spot. Try the BBQ duck. And the Tempura Mushrooms. If you don't think this is the best food you have ever had, your taste buds are dead. Ari, the proprietor and his brother Noah, are forces of nature. I am confident you will keep coming back. Bring the kids, the live music and atmosphere is very friendly. A casual vibe makes you feel that you are at your best friends place.
